French antique rococo gilt bronze & glass 5 light chandelier adorned with crystals.the chandelier features a central column which is made up of two glass pieces between which hang three cascades of 5 small arms each with a hanging crystal. At the bottom of the column is a decorative finial from which hangs a glass ball. The arms are in a scrolling acanthus leaf design and lead to leaf shaped candle drip holders and the candle drips are wood. The chandelier hangs from a large decorative hoop, a 7 link chain, bar and cup style ceiling rose. Adding a touch of opulence, the chandelier is adorned with a assortment of sparkling crystals, catching the light and creating a dazzling spectacle. The chandelier has french braided twin core wiring and takes 5 small screw in type e14s. Us and canadian buyers are able to find adapters to use this chandelier with their e12 bulbs (without the need to change the bulb holders). Please search on line 'e14 to e12' adapter. The frame work is solid with a lovely deep aged patina, with some missing gilt and marks reminiscent of its age and use. The glass columns are bright and free from any chips or cracks, the crystals are free from cracks, some may have small nibbles which are hard to see when chandelier hung.
